Food As Medicine: Introduction to an Ayurvedic Diet

When diet is wrong, medicine is of no use. When diet is correct, medicine is of no need.
- Ayurvedic Proverb

Ayurveda, the science of life, is an ancient school of medicine and healing through the natural world, namely with what you eat. By understanding the basic underlying principles of Ayurveda, a simple understanding of the effects of the food we eat everyday can applied to our own lives.

In our modern world, the "right" diet can be difficult to discern. Conflicting information from food and pharmaceutical industry-funded studies can leave anyone's brain in a confused knot. This class will present ancient wisdom and understanding of the universal principles of all things - physical and non-physical - and how to apply those principles to the food we eat. When we change the way we think about food and understand it to be the medicine we treat our bodies with everyday, it becomes easier to make radical lifestyle changes that ultimately benefit our wellness on every level.
