Ayurveda, the science of life, is a 5000 year old system of medicine which is a sister science of yoga. Together, they give us a holistic approach to wellness in our physical and non-physical lives. In Ayurveda, food is medicine and is used as a preventative to disease and imbalance within the body. Each person's constitution is a blend of the three doshas which are composed of the five elements who, in turn, are described in terms of the twenty gunas, or qualities.
